Group Opportunities
The Greek word “Koinonia” (meaning
“fellowship” and pronounced “coin-o-knee-ah”) expresses the essence of this
committee’s charge. Koinonia embodies
the belonging, community, celebration, and openness which healthy congregations
foster. Koinonia is the common thread
which welcomes people in worship, connects them in smaller groups, and sends
them forth in mission. The task of this
committee is to sustain and enrich an atmosphere of Koinonia. This includes oversight of specific events
which engage the whole congregation (Advent Fest, Summer Picnic, Sunday morning
coffee hours/receptions and a variety of other annual or occasional events....
like movie nights) as well as the coordination of smaller gatherings aimed at a
portion of our church family …like potlucks after Saturday evening
services.

Worship and Music The Worship and Music Ministry provides elements to enhance the worship services. They are involved with the musical selections, such as choirs, soloists, or special musical selections. Seasonal decorations for the sanctuary are also one of this committee's responsibilities. They are also responsible for helping schedule volunteers to help in services (such as ushers, readers, and communion assistants).

Youth
The Youth Ministry is a group of parents and involved adults who plan and coordinate activities for junior and senior high youth. These activities include a day at Noah's Ark Water Park in the Wisconsin Dells, skiing and/or tubing at Sunburst or Granite Peak, summer youth servant trips, scavenger hunts, and movie nights.
They assist the Senior High youth by providing leadership and guidance as the Senior Highers plan the Sunday Night Events.

Stewardship The Stewardship Ministry coordinates stewardship of the members of Cross of Life as they contribute their time, talents, and financial offerings.
We create and distribute a Time and Talent sheet, which is completed by our members. On the Time and Talent sheet, we list the many areas that our members can volunteer to help here at church. The choices range from (team) teaching Sunday School classes to making coffee (we ARE Lutherans!) to helping in worship services.
Our financial offerings are utilized not only to operate the church and synod (local and national), but also for benevolence - giving to various social programs. You are welcome to visit church and view an annual report any time.

Education There are many opportunities for you and your family to participate in the learning events offered by the Education Ministry!
There is Sunday School, provided for children preschool age through Grade 8. High schoolers are invited to sit in and participate in our Sunday Morning Conversations. And each Sunday, adults have two opportunities to choose from - a Bible study class and an adult forum, which focuses on a variety of topics.

Servant Ministries
The Servant Ministries support programs in the local area, as well as those of our urban partners and those in other parts of the world. This support can take on many shapes, including assistance with time, talents, and financial funding.
Once per year, we have a congregation-wide Servanthood Day. Members sign up to assist at our local partners, and may be asked to paint, lay flooring, organize medical supplies, sort and hang donated clothing, or clean and organize.
Currently, Cross of Life members travel to our partner congregation in El Salvador twice per year (one group goes in January, the other in August). The members bring supplies such as medicines, soccer equipment, and games.
