Blood Drive Story #1: Emily Oberst
We all know that giving blood provides the gift of life for another, but when our Saturday mornings fill up with kids' activities and errands, it's easy to forget to keep an hour open to stop by Cross of Life and make a blood donation four times a year. And yet, for those dealing with cancer, blood transfusions are needed often to give them the strength and stamina to keep fighting. Meet COL members Emily Oberst and her parents, Steve and Melissa, as they share their story.

Blood Drive Story #2: "Leigh's 100"
In this video you'll meet Leigh Rainer, COL Member and Custodian, who is #2 on our list of most generous donors. We interviewed him right after he gave his 100th unit of blood, 33 of which were given at COL. His reason for giving in the first place was personal, as it so often is. Let's keep it personal ... realizing that real human beings take the gift we offer into their very self and it gives life!

Susie Hilgart's Party
On August 25, 2013 we celebrated Susie Hilgart's 15 years of service to Cross of Life. As our former Director of Adult Ministries, Susie blessed our ministry with her great love for people, her knowledge of our servant partners, and her willingness to pitch in on any task. The party was a true reflection of her many gifts, and we invite you to enjoy it now. From sentimental and sweet to sassy and silly, it signifies Susie!

El Salvador Story
What does it mean to have faith and to be a person who lives by faith? For each one of us, the response to that might be somewhat different. This is the first video in our Faith topics section shared by Joshua Young, our previous youth director and our current videographer/editor of Digital Spokes Media.  Pastor John first met him as he travelled with our church in August of 2009 to visit our partner church in El Salvador, Cordero de Dios (Lamb of God).  Unfortunately, the trip ended in tragedy for two of their young people, Kevin and Carlitos.Listen as Josh reflects on how he struggled in his faith by comparing his faith to that of others around him and how in light of what happened, he came to see that faith is not only a gift we receive but involves a constant struggle to overcome our fears. We invite you to then reflect yourself on what faith means to you and what that looks like for you in your living each day trying to love one another.
