The weekend of  September 11-12, we switch to the Fall Schedule which is now:  Saturdays at 5:00 PM and Sundays at 8:30 and 10:45 AM.  If you attend that 8:30 service, you’ll see just a few changes to it (the changes will vary from week to week but will include things like collecting the offering during announcements, singing a verse or two less of a hymn, reading one or two lessons instead of three, etc.) that cause it to fall closer to 50-55 minutes in length than the current target of 60 minutes.  This will allow our 9:30 Education Hour to start on schedule while leaving a few minutes for transition time.  Thanks for your patience and suggestions as we work this out come September.

Our regular worship schedule is 5 PM on Saturday evenings, and two Sunday services  (8:30 and 10:45).

On Saturday evening, there are Sunday School classes for Grades 4, 5, and 6 at 4:00 PM.  The Saturday eve worship service follows at 5 PM.  Sunday School classes for Preschool 1- Grade 3 are held during the 5 pm worship hour.

On Sunday, there is a Sunday worship service at 8:30 AM, followed by an Adult Education Hour. Sunday School classes for Preschool 1-Grade 3 are held during the 8:30 worship hour; Grades 4-6 hold classes during the Adult Education hour (9:30-10:30).  During the Adult Education Hour, you can choose from a pastor-led Bible study or member-led "Topic of the Day" (which can range from Mental Health Issues to Hands-on Computer Basics).  A second worship service is held at 10:450 AM; Sunday school classes for Preschool 1-Grade 3 are held during the 10:45 worship hour.

If you’d like to be considered a member at Cross of Life, you’re invited to join us for the new member gatherings. The next set of new member classes (there are generally 3 classes) will be held in the fall. During the classes, we cover Christian and Lutheran beliefs, the ministries of Cross of Life, and introduce you to the elected and staff leadership of the congregation.  No sign up necessary. If you have questions, talk to either Pastor or Debbie Riederer in the office (785-9420) or to Laura Weber (641-8101) from our Church Council.

New Member classes for this fall will be held on three consecutive Thursdays in September - the 16th, 23rd, & 30th. Classes run 6:30-8:30 pm; childcare is available (please contact Debbie in the church office to arrange for childcare).

• Sunday Morning Adult Forums:

  Learning about our latest trip to El Salvador

From 9:30-10:30, in room #202, you’ll find the coffee on and setting ready to enhance a relaxed, conversational environment.  Each week members of our congregation or the community lead adults through a  current issue topic. Please contact Susie Hilgart (785-9420) if you would like to get on the calendar.

• Sunday Morning Bible Study:

From 9:30-10:30,  you’ll find the coffee on and a pastor-led Bible study.  Each month will bring a new topic.  Currently, we're in the north Fellowship hall classroom, doing a "Introduction to Reading the Bible" study.  The setting is relaxed and conversation is abundant.

Throughout the year,  we invite you to attend:

• Wednesday Evening Adult Education & Sunday Evening Speakers/Events:

Periodically throughout the programming year Wednesday nights have been an excellent venue to run educational “series” for adults.  These learning opportunities happen on Wednesday evenings, from 6:15-7:30.

• At least twice a year, fall & spring, Cross of Life hosts an all congregation event.  An inspirational speaker(s) presents on topics that affect our church locally and/or nationally.

Join us Tuesday mornings 9:15-10:30 as we take a look at how people of faith have connected to God throughout the centures and how God connects with us in return!

Each year, Cross of Life presents a Bible to the students in Grade (and older students new to Cross of Life). Before Sunday School begins, a special Bible Basics evening is held for all 2nd Graders and parents. This night gives students the opportunity to learn some neat stuff about the Bible and play some Bible games. The evening wraps up with a big dish of ice cream, too! Bibles are presented to the parents and students during worship in late September. 

Bible Presentation Weekend will be on September 25 & 26 (2010) at the service of your choice.
